Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched shortly before 6:15 p.m. on Sunday night to the intersection of Bell Road and Scarsdale Boulevard to offer an assist to the Eastchester Police Department in attempting to track down two suspects involved in the alleged larceny at the CVS location on White Plains Road.

Police set up a perimeter at Montgomery Road and Post Road before an eagle-eyed local resident called the Scarsdale Police Department to say he saw one of the suspects in the area of Scarsdale Boulevard and Clarence Road.

According to police, an officer tracked down the alleged suspect, “asked (him) to stop, turn away and put his hands behind his back. the suspect asked me why (the officer) was stopping him,” prompting the officer to unholster his taser and call for backup, which promptly arrived.

The suspect - a Brooklyn resident whose name has not been released - was later positively identified by a witness of the alleged larceny. He is being held pending processing. The second suspect was not tracked down following a police canvas of the area.
